We have been involved in the entertainment business collectively for over 50 years. Trust me we are not that old; just early adopters. We have experience working for major corporations in the music, comic book, film, and having lots of kids industries.
Why do I mention that?
Because it means absolutely nada! Even though there are successful ventures in the webcomics media it is still a relatively new “business”. One where you can create your own rules. This intrigued us in a variety of ways.
Can you create a successful IP based off a niche market with niche characters that transcends its own ‘nichesness’.
A lot of people will say they do this for the love of creating a webcomic. More power to them. I see this as a business venture that just happens to revolve around subjects I hold near and dear to my heart. It as much fun creating these strips, as figuring out the best strategy to get this to become a well known intellectual property. The challenges are different, but both exciting.
The prospect of creating merchandise in multiple markets and devising our distribution strategies without the need for corporate ‘oks’ is nirvana. The internet is the great equalizer and I’ll be damned if I don’t figure out how to make my thought processes valuable.
Now that you know we are not hippies but some form of hippie capitalists, let’s get personal.
These strips are created by American minorities. This shouldn’t mean anything, but I have to warn you sometimes you just won’t get why we think it’s funny. I have a particular slant that is derived from my upbringing that included the streets of NY and the dominantly white suburbs of Texas. I have a unique perspective that sometimes will get lost in translation. Get over it.
As far as Hapajap, who knows what you will get, because he is a minority who thinks he’s white, a la the Dave Chappelle white supremacist.
Will all that being said, we will reveal more about our professional background once we establish a fanbase that loves our creation, and not what we did previously.
