Okay, I actually wanted to take some of this info and do a strip or two for Easter week, but I’m so behind schedule that I can’t seem to get my head unburied…

So here’s something worth discussing at any rate, if you’ve ever questioned who Jesus Christ was, who he claimed to be, or if he even existed, watch this video, and let’s chat.

Apologies I haven’t been around for a few days, but expect this to go on for up to two more weeks.  Yes, I suck.  But there’s a lot going on at home on various fronts, and because of that I’ve fallen farther behind in my deadline, so I’ve got a crap-load of work to catch up on, on top of everything else.  So I have to try my best to avoid getting into debates and coming up with new strips, even though there’s so much fodder to use going on right now… Gah!

At any rate, I hope everyone enjoyed our annual celebration of the historical resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ (we call that Easter, you know?), and raise a glass to our fighting Navy Seals who kicked pirate booty in a split second, even though it apparently took days and multiple requests to our President to get permission to use lethal force…  Oh, there I go again…

Anyway, see you soon, if you feel like arguing, just don’t expect much from me for a while.  But maybe Fairly Obvious can keep you rabid liberals entertained.  :)

‘House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated’

Washington, DC – UK’s Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don’t want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

According to Monckton, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Energy & Commerce Committee, had invited him to go head to head with Gore and testify at the hearing on Capitol Hill Friday. But Monckton now says that when his airplane from London landed in the U.S. on Thursday, he was informed that the former Vice-President had “chickened out” and there would be no joint appearance. Gore is scheduled to testify on Friday to the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment’sfourth day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The hearing will be held in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.

According to Monckton, House Democrats told the Republican committee staff earlier this week that they would be putting forward an unnamed ‘celebrity’ as their star witness Friday at a multi-panel climate hearing examining the House global warming bill. The “celebrity” witness turned out to be Gore. Monckton said the GOP replied they would respond to the Democrats’ “celebrity” with an unnamed “celebrity” of their own. But Monckton claims that when the Democrats were told who the GOP witness would be, they refused to allow him to testify alongside Gore.

Yeah, okay, so this post is a little late to the game.  But whatever.  I didn’t really want to post anything about this, but the more I keep hearing about it the more it just bugs me.  Not the whole controversy about Miss California (who, for full disclosure, goes to my church), but about Perez Hilton’s dumb bitch reaction to it.  That ‘Miss USA is supposed to represent all of us’ or however the idiot put it.  Well you know what?  If you ask someone a divisive question and the question will offend one half or the other of the population, YOU CAN’T REPRESENT ALL OF US WITH IT!

Miss California Carrie Prejean if anything DID represent California.  After all, we did just have TWO consecutive votes on the issue, and both times we voted FOR traditional marriage.  And to date, since 100% of the states who have voted on same sex marriage have voted to uphold traditional marriage… well, that means that her answer also represented MOST Americans!

That this moron can ask a question designed to cause controversy regardless of how it’s answered, and then go on to call the contestant a BITCH and a C*NT on national television makes him a first class TWIT.

For anyone wanting to see a more in depth interview with Miss California, she spoke at our church last Sunday.  It was a pretty amazing story.
