Haha. I love these strips with Ron-Ron. My favorite character. I can identify with him when he constantly explains things and makes others eat their own words.

I must agree with cobalt. I do like Ronald more and more as he voices his opinions. He reminds me of a nicer version of my uncle.
And the dynamics both with Ron and Mika as well as the types of people they represent is pretty entertaining and educational.

Is this going to be a political strip now, in the mode of “Mallard Fillmore” or “Day By Day?” I’m seriously asking.

There’s plenty to complain about on both candidates this round, DW. Just because a few political commentaries have been made doesn’t mean everything has to be about politics in the strip. Labels just let you turn your mind off.
But in response to DW’s comment, I don’t know that there’s a voice to posit any left-side points in nearly as cogent a manner without stretching the character. Ron does seem to be the most politically-active/aware of the group.

Not really. We had a 5 day Conan series..

The political ’series’ will wrap shortly. Although there’s just so much fodder there, it could go on for a while if we wanted it to. Shall we put it to a vote?
BTW, Orifel, Trent is our resident tree-hugging-liberal. And unfortunately like the liberals I’m closest to (My niece’s mother is really where his politics stem from, so they are ‘real world’ as far as that’s concerned), he uses his heart more than his head when it comes to issues of policy.
Mika is relatively ’status quo’ youth-liberal you could call it. Like most kids that go to public school and have liberal teachings hammered into your head for 4 years, she just kid of goes with what she knows. So she’s kinda where I was after high school, in general.
You’ll just have to wait and see where Leroy and Respex come down on these issues… maybe.

Do you like waffles?!

I like Waffles! ^-^ and the mooner for lightening the mood.

Yep, I remember Trent’s prior forays into the political arena - and the strip that follows this one . Which…. kind of reinforces my point, as well as makes yours.
Ron-Ron makes his points logically. There isn’t anyone to use logic in an opposing or normal (as in ‘at right angles’ normal) manner. At least not as yet shown. Trent tries to make his points in an appeal to the emotions, rather than in a cogent manner.
And I have one sister as a tree-hugging liberal. Another sister is even farther left, while my mother is marching right-ward out of libertarianism as we speak. Brother is fairly right, while his wife is fundamentalist right. Kind of shuts down conversations.

Orifel, those all sound like colors from a crayola box…

The United Politics of Beneton…

Only if by ‘United’, you mean to include ‘non-’, ‘un-’, or ‘dis-’ at the beginning.

[...] But make no mistake, this is no Mary Sue we’re dealing with. After all, she’s fallible (only with regard to politics, of course.) And it’s not like she’s just there to pander [...]
